Now why exactly would one of Luna's friends want to make her fatter?

1. Maybe Luna has expressed a desire to gain weight and they are helping her... or at least think they are.

2. Or perhaps they are growing concerned with their own waistlines, and Luna discovers a solution: an old ritual that keeps the practitioners at or below a specific weight by magically shunting any excess weight gained to a 'vessel' with Luna volunteering her own body as said vessel, of course this could get out of hand, Luna's friends could eat far more than she expected, pushing her weight higher than she is willing to deal with... or perhaps she wishes to end the spell and they're less willing.

Or maybe you have a better idea.
