"I like being fat and even more difficult, I've discovered that women don't do it for me any more."
Steve looked at Barry cautiously. "So your telling me that you don't get it on with your wife these days? Maybe you need counseling."
"Nah!, you aren't hearing me!" Barry snapped. "I'm gay. I like men."
Barry looked almost pathetic and Steve didn't know what to do.
"I don't know what to say." he stammered. "Are you sure?"
"I've been working through this for years. Yeah, I'm sure and counseling isn't going to help. Actually I already told Joanie that I'm not losing weight. She's already started the divorce."
Steve is still struggling with this news.
"Sounds like you have it all handled, Barry."
"Not really." Barry sighed again. "I haven't told you everything."
"What else is there?"
Suddenly, the lights came on.
Barry stood up and straightened his robe to cover his belly.
"That's enough for now. It's just good having you here. Having an old friend to keep me company now is the best thing for me. Why don't we see if the game is still on. I'll get something for us to eat. These days it seems like I'm happiest when I have something to eat."
Steve discovered that Barry wasn't kidding about eating. No wonder he was getting fat.
