"How much blood," Simba asked cautiously, not liking the idea.
"Only a little," Rafiki replied, "certainly not enough to be dangerous to you."
"Well I guess I can't complain much," Simba said, "I do want-no, I need to know what's going on,, but I don't want it to affect my fighting abilities."
"Don't worry king," Rafiki said, "I will take it from your tail, "though it will be easier if you lie down."
"If you say so," Simba said, but nevertheless lay down, and waited while Rafiki grabbed a bowl, and a sharpened stone.
Placing the bowl on the ground, Rafiki grabbed Simba's tail firmly, and said, "this will hurt a little," before using the stone to cut the king's tail.
Simba grunted at the small but sudden pain, but made no other comment until Rafiki released his tail, "that's it?"
"For now," Rafiki replied, "it will take some time to discover exactly what is afflicting you."
"How long," Simba asked.
"That I cannot say," Rafiki replied, "it might be fairly soon, or it might take until nightfall."
