Mathew wasn't by nature a petty or vindictive person but he also wasn't one to let a personal slight or irritation slide either. So, one minor grievance at a time and without really meaning to he had found himself with quite a long list of enemies.
Not even his own family were immune to his grudges. Apart from his brother and sister in law he had been growing increasingly frustrated with Amanda his wife. She had been on a health kick recently and while he appreciated the way she looked it seemed like all she was interested in was going to the gym. Worse, he couldn't remember the last time he had a home cooked meal that wasn't some variety of salad. They'd had more than one fight over it but she stubbornly refuses to see his point of view.
Meanwhile, he was equally annoyed by his daughter Kate. They had been close once when she had been younger but now she was a teenager she didn't seem to have any respect for him. His sweet little princess was gone replaced by a willful brat more interested in looking good for boys and partying than anything he considers important like schoolwork or respecting her parents. Despite all that he still missed the closeness they'd had and wished there was a way to recapture it.
Outside of the family home, his neighbours were also the frequent target of his ire.
There was Mrs Lopez the woman across the street how insisted on letting her children run riot in the neighbourhood. He was sure he'd keep a much tighter reign on then if he was in her position.
And next door lived the insufferable Brad Wiliams. Who despite being loud drunken and overbearing seemed to bring a different girl home every night. Mathew was torn between resenting the man's boorish behaviour and wishing he knew his secret.
