Thanks to your father you have a love for sports, baseball being a particular favorite as you have recently been cheering for the local team, Gate City Sparrows.
Background: After having moved away from home to Gate City, you had made plans to find your way in the world. However, through a twist of fate, you got roped into something grander. As you explored the city, taking a small urban excursion through a run-down part of town to let off some steam, you incidentally found yourself in the middle of an interdimensional event as a group of IDP officers came to escort you to safety. The team then finds themselves ambushed by a horde of Anti, where you step up to fend them off as one of their own is injured. As an emergency protocol, the group utilized an experimental device to open a rift for escape, but as the last one through the ripple collapsed as you emerged on the other end unconscious.
It was then you first found yourself in a strange place, greeted by a tall masked figure clad in pure white robes. This was the Great Library, a mysterious realm that houses the Chroniclers tasked with observing other dimensions and recording all of the possible outcomes and histories therein. You are an oddity in this realm inaccessible to even the IDP itself, as though your dreams you find yourself manifesting in the vast Library’s halls. It was then you discovered the ability to delve into the memories of those you have met, and relive moments of their past. Placed under the observation and care of a Chronicler with the given alias of Index, together you are to figure out why you are there, and what reason for your newfound gifts.
Back in the waking world, you are nursed back to health in the medical wards of the Inter-Dimentional Patrol headquarters. The commander has taken note of your bravery against the Anti, as well as some latent potential that he offers you to join the IDP as an officer, to help in the fight against anti across all the dimensions in their care.
