Marie Lopez sat shivering in the matinence room under the roller coaster at Silverstone amusement park. The night air was thick with a cool breeze and the cries of the undead who were making their way through the park. It had been an entire day since she and her sister were seperated and Marie wasn't even sure if she was still alive. Her eyes were still red from all the crying she had done since she got here which had thankfully gone unnoticed by the zombies roaming the park outside. "We... we were just passing through..." Marie choked out as she tried to get ahold of herself. Her entire world had always been bright and full of sunshine, even when she was sad she knew things would get better so long as she had her family and her friends. Now she was alone in a strange place without either in the middle of the last thing she had ever wanted to experience. Her world had gone dark, her hopeful sunny demeaner had left her, and she had no way of knowing how she would even survive.
Her hand tightened on the crowbar she had picked up when she was still with her sister as Marie began singing softly to herself. "Jesus loves me... this I know... for the bible t-tells me so..." It was hard to hold back the fresh tears that were forming on the edges of her eyes, but she was starting to feel a bit braver as she went along. "Little ones to him belong... for they are w-weak, but he i-is strong..." She wiped her eyes as she stood up and looked out the window at the eeriely empty park. There were only a few weak zombies in sight, shambling along out in the open next to food stands and attractions. Marie felt an ice cold chill run down her spine even though she knew the bushes hid her quite well from the walking corpses. She still had trouble believing that this was all real, that something this horrible could really happen. "Its the end of days..." She moaned softly as she sunk back down to the floor. "I'm not getting out of here alive..."
For a brief moment Marie consitered the unthinkable, walking outside and just letting them have her. It would be quick and mostly painless... maybe she'd even get luckly and have one of them snap her neck. "Oh god... oh god no..." She whispered to herself as she came to her senses. "I... I can't just give up... I have to be strong..." She said with as much determination as she could muster. "I... have to find my sister..." She looked down at the crowbar in her hand with slightly blurred vision and took a deep breath. It was heavy, much heavier than she had expected a crowbar to be, but it would surely put an end to whatever she swung it against. The thought of killing anything repulsed her, yet she soon came to the grim realization that disposing of these things was a kindness. "Mercy." She whispered as she walked over to the door. "Peace for the dead. I have to do this... I have to be strong." With that, she opened the door and walked into the worst nightmare of her entire life...
