The stadium was located right in the middle of Silverstone amusement park and often beconed to visitors from all over the park with its brillant light show and roaring music. Even with the power shut off and the fireworks put away the stadium was still easy to spot no matter where you were in the park. It seemed to call out to Marie, as if it was telling her she would be safe there, protected from the zombies crawling about the park restlessly. With her crowbar in hand Marie began walking past the dark, silent rides and darkened booths and snack tents. The only movement came from a chilly wind blowing the various decorations and torn streamers about like the branches of ruined trees. The effect disturbed Marie, but she remained brave and kept moving as she got closer to the stadium.
She almost screamed when a dead clown lumbered out from behind the food stand she was passing, the only thing that stopped her was the disgusting sound her crowbar made as it struck him upside the head. She covered her mouth as the body fell to the ground, a large chunk torn from its already mangled forehead. Fresh blood poured from the wound, mixing with the dried blood and make up on the ghouls face. Marie took a step back and fell to the ground after failing to steady herself. Tears began forming in her eyes as she dropped the crowbar to the ground with a light thud. "I'm s-sorry... I'm so sorry..." Marie choked out as she wiped her eyes on her shirt. She felt horrible, not just with the zombie she had just killed, but sick with fear at how close the thing had been to getting her. If she had been a second slower the large man would have likely pinned her... and that would have been it.
Marie picked up her crowbar and look up at the stadium walls under the starry night sky. She was much closer now, just a little bit further and she could hopefully rest. "I-I've got to be strong..." Marie said as she slowly stood up. "I can't give up now." She stepped over the body of the slain corpse and moved on. Soon she came to the glass doors of the stadium, which were strongly locked, but had been shattered with some type of blunt instrament, leaving a space just big enough for Marie to crawl inside. She swept away some of the broken glass with her foot and climbed through the small hole. The inside was very dark, but there was enough light coming in through the shattered doors to allow Marie to see some stairs leading to a higher floor, as well as the front desk. At one time it had been manned by a vendor who sold cheap curios and novelties at high prices, now it might have something worth scavenging... if there was even anything left...
