Little Bear looked about his bedroom. He considered in his young mind what would be a good place for his little friend to sleep. He remembered the day he tried to find a place for No Feet and ruled out his Toy box, high shelf and Dresser drawer. But there was a spot in his night stand. A little shelf. It had plenty of space but didn't look very comfortable. Then he was struck with an idea. He carefully placed Ash on the shelf.
"I have an Idea. I'll be right back,"
Little Bear left and a moment later returned with a slipper. It was pink, well worn, but looked comfortable and warm.
Ash eyed it curiously "Who owns the slipper, Little Bear?"
"It belongs to Mother Bear." the cub explained.
"Won't she need it?"
"Not until winter. We can make you a better bed later."
"Well, any port in a storm I guess. Let me take a look inside."
Climbing up into the Slipper the first thing Ash noticed was the smell. It wasn't strong, clearly it hadn't been worn in a very long time but it was there nonetheless. Overall, the more he thought about it, It really wasn't that bad. It certainly didn't smell like human oder, it was much more earthly. Lite only by the light coming from the opening he could see clearly where the cloth sole was worn in the places where Mother Bear's foot had settled into the slipper. He wondered what it would be like to be in here with such a massive foot. Getting down on his hands and knees Ash lifted up a bit a fabric that had been worn free from the sole. Though still attached to the slipper at one end it was big enough to crawl under it. This didn't look to be such a bad place to spend the night at all.
