You thought of possibly swapping bodies with your mother, but that would be really weird, and you thought about swapping with Anne, but being in your own sister's body would also be a strange experience. Your girlfriend was a good candidate, but she wasn't here at the moment, and it would take her a while to get over to your house. You had little patience and you wanted to test this machine out now.

A knock on the door upstairs suddenly got your attention, and you crept half way up the basement stairs so you could hear who it was when your mother answered the door. It turned out to be....
