Adam felt himself losing control, falling from the bed. He also felt that he was tumbling from his body too. As that slammed into the wooden floor, he kept going. His soul plummeting onwards, as darkness swept away the familiar ceiling. It retreated into a greying void and then darkness. Even the vague sense of his body faded. The awkwardly splayed out arms and legs, even the pounding in his head eased off into nothingness.
From the void images flashed by, as Adam tried to latch onto them and end the bottomless plunging deeper and deeper. Without hands catching a grip was odd in itself. The flickering sights, lasting longer with practice, Adam felt the grip stiffen on each attempt. It was working... Even if it felt wrong at the same time. Surely something was better than nothing! Existence better than non existence.
