Justin’s eyes grew wide as he saw a blue beam shot out of the gun he was holding in his hand. Apparently it wasn’t a toy gun. He didn’t want to really pull the trigger, but he accidentally did. It didn’t take much either; only touched slightly made the gun shoot the strange blue light out of its barrel.
From the shock, Justin dropped the gun on the ground. He looked at his now empty hands and slowly started to tilt up his head. Did he hit someone? Maybe he didn’t…? But what if he did, would he have killed that person?
Justin’s eyes stared up in the same direction as he only just saw the blue beam travel. There, right in front of his gaze, was his best buddy Jerome. His entire body was radiating a faint blue color, only for a fraction of a second. He didn’t have a clue what hit him as he was still enjoying his steak and had not paid attention to his buddy shooting him.
Other members of the family, who had seen a strange blue beam shoot right in front of their eyes, had started to look up and join Justin’s gaze at Jerome on the far side of the table. Especially Amber, who had been eyeing up Jerome’s arms when he suddenly started radiating blue, looked at Jerome with her mouth open.
Jerome, putting a piece of steak in his mouth and chewing it, noticed everybody looking at him with surprise in their eyes. He looked around the table and asked very dry: “What?!?”
