Checking your refrigerator revealed that you'd finished off your last carton of neural supplement last night while watching the game which was annoying as you were hoping to be impress the new girl with your sense of humour, but without supplements your thoughts tended to get a bit slow. Without thinking you stepped in and pressed the button for the ground floor when just before the doors could close one of your neighbours got in, and stood with their back to you as the door closed to take you both down.
Your neighbour was clearly focused on their phone screen, lost in their social media stream as you suddenly became aware of your rumbling stomach.
That was when you suddenly became aware of the humanity so close to you that you could scent their living brain food just inches away.
