It only takes a second before you think of your response to Adam's bizarre offer. You've only been in this city for what seems like a few hours and now you're hearing about threats of being blown up like a massive foxy balloon? This is all too strange for you, and you have no reason to accept the offer that Adam is presenting you.
"Thanks anyways but I think I'll have to pass," you say as you face away from Adam and start to head out of the store. Yet before you can make it far, you feel one of Adam's hands on your shoulder. He effortlessly spins you around to face him, his deep blue eyes meeting your's.
"Look,' plead Adam,"maybe I didn't make myself clear the first time. I've been in this city for a long time now and I've seen some things. I wasn't joking when I said that there are people out there who would love to take a slim, trim guy like yourself and turn you into a half-ton fox."
"But why would they do that?" you ask.
"I dunno. It depends. Sometimes, it's a scientist looking for a test subject for a bulking agent. Other times, they'll fatten a guy up a big as he can get to send a message to outsiders who find their way here. Or every once in a while someone will get plumped up to serve as someone's...toy."
"Toy?" you reply.
"A lot of furs here find fat to be extremely...um, attractive." Adam looked away for a moment, his cheeks were slightly red. "Look, what I'm saying is that if you put on a little weight, then you'll blend in and won't be in such harm. I'm not saying that you'll get a big as me." Adam took his free hand and patted his belly which caused several ripples throughout his body. "Unless, you know, you like it."
You laugh nervously at Adam. Still, you aren't convinced and would rather take your chances on your own. "Adam, thanks for the offer, and I thank you for looking out for a stranger like." You lift his hand off of your shoulder. "But I'm just going to change it out there."
Adam has a brief look of dismay of on his face as you once again try to leave the store.
