This choice: You make it back to your room • Go Back... As you walk down the corridor, you spot a fork in your path, going to the left and right. You look down both choices and hear footsteps coming. A shadow appears on the left corridor. "Crud! Someone's coming!" Hastily, you run down the right, trying to avoid being seen. Several near encounters happen as you rush towards your room, not even sure if this is the path to your room. "Darn it, where the heck am I!?" You run down every twist and turn you see. The cabin is definitely a lot bigger inside than out. You're already sure that you're lost somewhere in this maze-like building, and you're already getting tired out from your constant running. Just when you're almost out of hope, you see another branch of corridors, with voices coming from one of them. As silent as you can, you lean forward, trying to listen in on the voices. "...Man, I hate redecorating. Can't we just leave it the way it is? I'm sure the guest wouldn't mind at all." "Guilmon, you remember what Wolfy told us, right? We have to keep him comfortable until..." The voices stopped talking. You felt a chill creep down your spine. It gets worse and worse until your whole body is shuddering violently. "W-what's going on?" Your legs tremble, threatening to collapse from your shaking body. You can't seem to move a single muscle. This experience can only mean one thing. "Luke..." Managing to move your back and head, even just a little, you manage to peak out and see two kids standing in front of a door. Sure enough, the black cloak on one of them means that Luke really is there. The figure standing next to him, the boy he called Guilmon, is trembling as well. "Lucario, can you p-please back off with your aura, just a little bit? I-I can barely move a muscle!" You recover as your massive body stops trembling. "Gill, it's time to go. Aren't you in the middle of cooking something?" "Oh, darn it, you're right!" The two head off towards a different direction, leaving you free to check out the room they were in. But from their conversation about redecorating and about you..."This must be my room!"
Upon entering, the whole room was definitely very different compared to when you first entered it. The walls were now a beige colour, with medieval torch-shaped lights. There were several jewel-encrusted furniture such as chairs, a desk, a cabinet, and even the bed was jewel-encrusted! But there was someone lying on your bed. He had a wispy, dreamy look on his face, with a small smile etched onto his mouth. "Wil!" you shout, approaching him. He seems unsurprised as he lazily stands up from your bed. "Yo. How ya doin', dragon guy." "What did you do to my room!?" "Redecorated it. It's gonna be on your tab once your stay's over." A tab!? You feel like punching him now! You instinctively growl and clench your fists tightly. You can already feel your arms tensing as you're ready to unleash hell on this kid. "Calm down! This whole stay is complementary, so everything is no charge, remember? That includes the redecorated room. Besides, don't you feel more at home in this kind of place?" He did have a point. Looking around your room did soothe you a little bit, if not a little too 'dragon's hoard' themed for your taste. Taking a deep breath, you control your anger for the time being and look at Wil. He seems to have taken a liking at one of the torches, staring at it intensely. "Alright, I admit, I like this new room. But please, if you're gonna mess with my stuff, get my permission first." "You mean like how you messed around with Drake's medicine cabinet?" You froze up. How did he know about that? Wil laughed at your reaction. "Isn't it a little too obvious? You were an ordinary human when you got here. And now, you're a hulking green dragon with muscle tone good to win the world championships!" You think over what he said and laugh a little yourself. It is really that obvious, actually.
The two of you sit down on your bed, chatting about the other workers. "So who is this Guilmon I saw Luke talking to?" "Oh, he's the chef of the cafeteria. We usually call him Gill." "Is it because he's named after that digimon character?" "Yup, it's a little embarrassing if you're going around with a character's name as your own name." "Yeah, that's understandable. Anyway, about Drake...Is it really true that he's a dragon?" "He told you? Well in that case, I have no reason to keep it from you. Yes, he's a dragon. He has to drink his medicine to temporarily take on the form of a human, but it always wears off after a while. One of the things he can do is force his dragon form to come out though, but then he'll have to take his medicine earlier than usual." "Huh. But, what about me? I drank some of that Dragon's Fire Power stuff, and now I'm a dragon. Won't I..." Wil looked sullen, looking away from you. "I'm sorry, but it won't wear off for a very long time." "What!? W-Why not!?" "You drank a muscle growth formula on top of that energy drink. The result would have changed your genetic structure, causing the changes to become permanent." Your heart sinks into your stomach, as the thought of living as something inhuman for the rest of your life burns into your mind. "But look at it this way! With those guns, no woman can possibly resist you now!" Wil says casually. A long, uneasy silence settles in as neither of you says a word. Suddenly, Wil gets up and stretches his arms. "Welp! No use being all gloomy about it now! Besides, your strength may serve you well in the future..." Wil smiles at you creepily, as if he's saying something to you. But you're not sure exactly what it is. "Well, no one's manning the front desk. Back to my post!" Immediately, he runs out of your room, not even bothering to close the door. Sighing, you get up to close the door when someone walks up in front of it. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
