"Jesus Nancy, I don't know. That's why I came to you. You're an expert in this stuff. What can you do for me", Brad exclaims! Nancy raises her one eyebrow and says, "Well, since you're not being specific we could do an appeal to the goddess and let her decide the best course. I found that works well when not knowing all the facts myself". Brad waves his hands and mutters, "Whatever, how much is it going to cost"? Nancy smiles and says, "$4,000". "Fine", Brad replies and pulls $4,000 from his wallet. As usual she knew exactly how much cash he had in his wallet. Brad mentally kicks himself for not remembering that and leaving some of his cash in the office. Nancy takes the cash and says, "Ok, lets get started". She claps her hands the lights go out and candles all over the room light. Brad sits down. Nancy takes his hands, closes her eyes, and starts mumbling what just sounds like nonsense to Brad. After a few minutes the table starts to shake and a breeze comes blowing through even though all the windows and doors are closed. Some of the candles go out. Brad feels an electrical shock pass through him from Nancy and pulls away. "Shit", he screams rubbing his hands! Nancy opens her eyes, claps her hands bring the lights back on, and says, "It's done". Brad looks around and asks, "What's done? Nothing is different". Nancy smiles and says, "The Goddess answers requests in her own time, but I'm guessing you'll have your answer in the morning".
Brad drives back to the office and looks around. Nothing has changed except Mark is now kissing up to Brad's secretary. Brad fumes as Teri is one of the best secretaries in the company. Mark probably already knows that and is trying to still her away. Brad smiles and says, "Now, now, you have your own secretary don't you". Mark shrugs and says, "No, not yet. The old man suggested we could share Teri until I can find one. If that's ok with you of course Teri". Teri just giggles. Brad walks back into his office and just barely controls his desire to slam the door shut. The rest of the day is uneventful. Brad rushes home and heads to be early hoping the Goddess answers his request tomorrow.
The next morning Brad awakes to see that the Goddess has indeed answered his request, but not in any manner that he expected.
