Jane tries to make it through class without sne...

Just as Jane was about to get up to close the window, the Chemistry teacher arrived and immediately began to take roll-call. Knowing how strict this teacher could be about the time and place for interruptions, Jane decided to take her chances. The itch wasn't too bad, yet. She could probably handle it. Settling back into her seat, she rubbed gently at the tip of her nose, which seemed to deal with the problem for now. With any luck she could ride this one out.

After about five minutes, she was beginning to regret her decision. Her eyes were prickling like crazy, and she could feel her sinuses going into overdrive. After ten, she was sitting with their head propped up by her left hand, index finger pressing firmly- but hopefully unobtrusively- between her nose and her upper lip, raising it slightly to push at her septum whenever a worse-than-average itch reared its ugly head.

Breathing was becoming steadily harder, and she could feel her body gearing up for an epic-scale allergy attack. She only hoped that she could delay it long enough to lose control in private. She had held off allergy attacks for a couple of hours before, but it was never a sure thing, and she had never managed for anything like that when she was forced to stay near the source of the irritation.

And the wind was getting up, too.
