It was Batgirl! Commissioner Gordon was happy to see one of the bat family members here to assist, though he wondered where Batman was? Perhaps there were more important things he needed to do? Nevertheless, Gordon made his way to the top of the museum. At the top was Batgirl, surveying the rooftops for Catwoman, unaware that Batman had already been there. “Batgirl! It’s nice to see you again, have you found any clues on Catwoman?” Gordon asked as he reached the roof. “Fathe-I-I mean, Commissioner Gordon!? Uh n-no I haven’t. Found anything, that is.” Batgirl said in a quiet voice, hoping that Gordon would just say “Ok!” and leave. However, this was not the case as before either had the chance to reply, a faint ominous glow emanated across the monotonous Gotham rooftops… They both investigated the source of the confusion, and found an intricate diamond in the shape of a cat head, glowing neon violet as they came closer.
Gordon issued onto his radio, “I have located one of the missing artifacts. I am with Batgirl on the rooftop of 250 52 street, returning the artifact now.” Batgirl leaned down and picked up the diamond, it was pretty, but she wasn’t sure diamond’s typically came in glowing neon violet… something was up with this. Gordon came over to Batgirl as she was examining the stolen treasure, stating how he thought it was strange that Catwoman would just leave the artifact here on this seemingly random rooftop. “You’d better let me return it before someone else comes along. You should probably look for Catwoman anyway, she may have been injured while running away from the museum.” Batgirl turned to hand him the diamond. “Right. Sorry.” She bashfully replied.
As Batgirl reached her hand out to Gordons, the neon glow increased in intensity, until reaching a crescendo as they both touched it to pass it along, creating a blinding white mask across both Batgirls and Commissioner Gordons vision.
