You are... …comforted to see your usual 15 year old face. It's somewhat battered and bruised but still recognisably you. Lean cheeks, short dark hair, dark eyes. You lower your arms you used to finish peeling off the bandages with a soft sigh, feeling deep aches to muscles you barely knew existed all across your torso.
"So sorry if this is rude," the Sister says gently, "but what are you?" There's no animosity in her voice, just excited curiosity. "I don't think I've ever seen an animal like you before." Her paws make little micromovements towards you, like she's trying really hard to resist poking and prodding you. Her large round ears are almost quivering with the effort.
You grin widely, ignoring the ache. "This is really Redwall! Wow."
Concussion you figure. Bumped your head and you've gone mad.
"So of course you won't have seen a human before. Although it seems I'm considerably smaller than usual. A normal human would be able to hold a mouse in just the palm of their hand, we're pretty big. Bigger even than ... " You flail around for what would be a good example, casting your mind back to the stories. "...than a badger. Bigger than like ten badgers." Your arms stretch out unconsciously to demonstrate and you wince again at the aches.
The Sister's eyes go wide as she listens to you. "Ten badgers!" She exclaims. "That's... that's crazy!"
"Well I'm not an adult yet, so maybe more like 5 badgers. I've still got some growing up to do." You admit with some reluctance. "But my dad is 10 badgers easy. If I can figure out how to undo whatever brought me here perhaps I can show you."
Buttercup's face suddenly saddens. "Oh my, you don't know do you." Taking the blank look on your face as confirmation she continues. "You... you died. That's the only way outsiders can come here. We've been getting more and more these last few years but always they've been recognisable - moles, rabbits, even some rats and foxes. You're the first... hooman."
