"Ok well we are almost out of cash so I think we should split up and look for jobs" you tell the group. They all agree with you and you guys part ways. With your many years of guard duty, you decide the town guard would be a good starting point. You approach a guard in the market place and he points you towards the town barracks.
You enter the barracks and see a couple of guards who are sleeping, but for the most part it is empty. You head through a second door in the back that leads to a outdoor courtyard where most of the men are practicing with their bows and swords.
"No Civilians allowed in the barracks. Leave at once" you hear from behind you. You spin around and notice a large looking man. He is wearing nicer armor than the rest of the men and you assume he is some higher ranking guard.
"I was actually wondering if you had a position open" You tell him. "In the town that I came from I was part of the royal guard". The man looks you over for a minute then responds.
"Well we do have a position open" he responds "Show me what you got" hey throws you a sword and leads you over to a solider standing in the middle of the courtyard. "Rex this is Knight. Knight, this is Rex our newest recruit. I want the two of you to fight with each other" He steps back and the two of you draw your swords. Rex immediately charges at you but you hold your ground. As soon as he is within your range, you immediately disarm him.
"Wow not your first time with a sword I see" he says seeming impressed. "Now how are you with a bow". He leads you over to the archery range. You pick up the bow and shoot. You hit the target all three shots. "Not to bad" the guard says "I think we will be able to find a place for you. My name is Capitan Hadrian and you will report to me. You are one of the best swordsman I have ever come across and I think it would be a waste of talent to have you as a regular guard. I want you to....
