Nate decided to brew his own tea before going to bed. He went to the kitchen, took out a package of green tea from the kitchen cabinet, put the box on a wooden table, put a kettle with boiling water on the table, took out his red mug, put a bag of tea and filled it with boiling water. After a few minutes, the tea was ready.
Nate took his warm tea and began to enjoy the mild tea taste. Suddenly he felt something strange. This feeling could be described as follows: a slight cold came from inside, replaced by a pleasant warmth. But it did not last long, less than a second. Nate stopped drinking tea, he thought, but thought it seemed to him, continued drinking tea.
After a couple of minutes, Chris entered the room. Nate did not even pay attention to him. Chris also came to drink before going to bed, but not tea, but milk.
- Nate, get me some milk.
Nate, in silence, went to the fridge, opened the door, and got me a gallon of milk.
- Here you go.
When Nate gave the milk to Chris, he thought Chris was a little older.
"He did."
Chris took the milk, poured it into his mug and put it in the microwave. Nate continued to drink tea, but the feeling that Chris had grown up did not leave him. Nate wanted to score and continue enjoying the mild tea, but he was tormented by this thought. Eventually, Nate just decided to check his height to calm down. He came up to him from behind. When he stopped and looked at him, he could not believe his eyes. Nate thought that Chris had grown up.
"No way!"
He decided to double-check and started to look closely at Chris.
- Nate, if you want warm milk, wait - Chris' voice was a little annoyed.
- Chris, how tall are you?
- What? - Chris was in a bewilderment.
- How tall are you? - kept asking Nate a pushy question.
- 4'5", why?
Nate's eyes were rounded.
- But you're 4'2" tall.
- Why? I've been 4'5" for a long time. Oh, milk is ready!
Chris took the warm milk and ran into the living room.
Nate was standing in a stupor. 4'5". There was no way he could accept this fact. It is impossible! Just a few minutes ago, Chris was 3" taller. Then Nate thought it was his joke. That's right, a joke! Chris decided to make a joke on Nate.
With such thoughts, Nate went to the living room.
- Hey, kid, come here! - In Nate's voice there was confidence.
- Leave me alone, let me finish my drink," Chris's voice was irritable.
- Come here, I want to measure you.
Chris finished his milk, got up, and walked up to Nate.
- I already told you, my height is 4'5".
- No, let me measure you.
- Okay, but you wash the cup.
- Okay, just let me measure you, Nate didn't care about anything. He wanted to measure his brother.
They came up to the wall, Chris leaned against the wall, Nate took the tape measure and started measuring him. 4'5". For Nate, it was as if time had stopped. How his brother grew up so fast.
Nate wanted to ask him a question again, but then he got that new feeling. He would not have paid attention to him if he had not seen the following: Chris was growing up. He was growing in front of his eyes. His clothes also grew with him. It took a few seconds. Now Chris was growing at exactly 5'.
- Nate, you see, my height is 5 feet.
Nate could not find the words. In front of his eyes, his brother grew up and says that he has always been.
- You are now grown up. Right in front of my eyes!
- If it was a joke, it was a bad one," Chris' voice expressed his indignation. - Okay, I went to bed.
Chris ran to his bedroom. Nate kept standing in the same place. He refused to accept it.
- It's a dream, just a dream," Nate began to sound unhealthy laughter in his voice. - Right! It was just a dream.
Nate decided that now he would go to bed and fall asleep, and when he woke up, Nate would be normal again.
He went to his bedroom and...
