10 minutes and a blinding flash of light later, Trevor found himself the size of a grain of rice. He looked at his hands, taking in the feeling of his new shrunken body. Looking out to the interview room, the feeling of enormity of every object in the distance was truly indescribable. The chair he dwarfed a few minutes ago was now an unscalable mountain. A room he could walk across in mere seconds was now a vast, unexplored landscape. Any fear a normal person would have from being this small wasn’t there for Trevor. Instead, he was full of anticipation and wonder. He was ready for his escape.
A small hand touched Trevor’s back, shaking him out of his mesmerized daze. “Pretty cool, right?” Josh asked. Even though both had been shrunk, Josh was still nearly half of Trevor’s height. The “tall” blonde beamed from ear to ear, then scooped up Josh in a big hug. “Haha! This is freaking incredible, dude! You’re a genius!” Trevor squeezed his boss like a teddy bear. Josh blushed as he was released from the “big” guy’s grip.
“Ah, glad you like it. I’m so used to being small all the time, I guess I’ve forgotten how truly astounding this all is.” Josh said, taking in the sight of the interview room more fully than he usually did.

“Wha- Hey?? Uh, I wouldn’t do that! The balcony is safe, but the counter--”
“Boss dude, check this out! There’s a speck of dust here that’s half my height! Haha, no way! Don’t worry. When I grow back, I’ll clean the counter off for you.” Trevor continued forward, not looking back at Josh, who was still on the balcony for safety. “Oh man… the smells are amplified at this size, too!” Trevor sniffed the air. He started following his nose, walking farther and farther away from his worried boss. Josh was hesitant on leaving the balcony, but he was even more worried about something happening to his new employee. The tiny man sighed, then jumped the balcony as well.
“Hey! Wait up!” Josh protested. Trevor sprinted forward towards the smell. In a few minutes, he and Josh had found a hole in the wall near the opposite end of the counter.
“Secret tunnel! Nice!” Without giving it a second thought, Trevor charged into the hole to investigate the smell. Josh wanted to protest, but the med-student was too fast for him. Eventually, the two made it to the other side of the wall. The smell emanating from the tunnel had led them to…
