"While playing co-op might be fun, you tend to suck at games, making it less so," Cameron said.
"Mean much?" she said, pretending to pout a little and sticking her tongue out at him. "But who said anything about co-op play? I was thinking more along the lines of a challenge. Say we place a bet on who can survive the longest in Seven Days to Die?"
"What would I get when I win?" Cameron asked, knowing that her beating him was not likely to happen.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"All your allowance and you dong all my chores for the rest of the summer," he said.
"One or the other not both," she countered.
"Um, my chores then," Cameron said.
"Agreed," she said, shaking his hand to form the pact. Cameron did not even bother to ask her what would happen if he lost the bet as he set up the game.
For the rest of the afternoon, the pair played the game, each twin having a different strategy. Cameron had his character always moving around, never staying someplace too long after he got the loot he needed. Anna, on the other hand, found a good place to set up a base with traps to hold off the hoards of zombies.
Cameron laughed at Anna's strategy for she was not going to get some good equipment just by staying in one spot and not going out to get new supplies, but he failed to take into account that since she had a base that was easily defendable, she also was using less energy. A fact that caused his downfall, when he came across a group of zombies during the night and, due to his character always on the move and using stamina, had been unable to getaway. While Cameron had managed to beat back some of them, their numbers overwhelmed him in the end, leading his character to die.
Cameron almost threw his controller in anger as the death message appeared on the screen. Anna gave a small whoop of victory as her character was still living at the base she had set up. "Looks like I win bro," she said with a large smile on her face.
"Alright what do I have to do?" he asked.
"Just wait right here," she said with the smile still plastered on her face as she hurried out of his room for a few moments. When she returned, she thrust something at him and ordered him to put it on. As Cameron looked down at what she had thrown at him, he saw that it was...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
