Cameron held the sundress in his hands for a moment, staring at the faded floral patterns as if hoping the fabric would somehow change into something less humiliating. It felt oddly soft, the material well-worn from years of use. He sighed, knowing there was no way out of this. If he refused, Kat would never let him live it down.
"Alright, let’s just get this over with," he muttered under his breath before grabbing the dress and heading to the next room to change.
Closing the door behind him, he took a deep breath before pulling the dress over his head. The fabric slid over his skin with an unsettling ease, draping against him in a way that felt far too natural. The thin straps rested gently on his shoulders, and the skirt billowed slightly as he adjusted it around his waist. It wasn’t tight, nor was it baggy—except in one particular area. Cameron looked down, noting how the chest was slightly loose, the space where Susanna’s curves would have filled it out now hanging empty against his flat torso.
He ran his hands along the fabric, feeling the unfamiliar sensation of wearing something so light and flowy. It was strange, almost airy, the way the material moved with him. Unlike his usual t-shirts and jeans, this outfit barely felt like it was there, and the unfamiliar swish of the skirt against his legs only added to the discomfort.
After one last moment of hesitation, he pushed open the door and stepped out.
Kat, who had been lounging on her bed, sat up immediately. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. "Whoa."
Cameron crossed his arms. "What?"
Kat blinked a few times before shaking her head. "Dude, I was expecting it to look ridiculous, but… it actually kinda fits you. Like, way too well."
Cameron groaned, running a hand down his face. "Great. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear."
Kat, of course, grinned like she was enjoying every second of his suffering. "Oh, come on, it’s not that bad. You could totally pass for a—"
"Don’t finish that sentence," Cameron warned, shooting her a glare.
Kat just laughed.
