Closing his eyes for a few moments Herbert concentrates and tries to ignore all the clamoring of his unconscious telling him that the world is collapsing. A few deep breaths and he's recovered his center... mostly.
"OK, Jill. You understand this is... not normal."
"Really? To be frank I hadn't explored other individuals beyond my Mother before choosing this location and you. I surmised that learning about the world in an environment similar to other young people would help me to establish a connection to humanity in general. I hardly think isolating myself from everyone would help me in any kind of social development and the results from mismanaged development are too dire to consider."
Herbert blinked and looked around his little 'shack'. Out in the middle of nowhere. Alone. Oooh the irony!
"Ooookay. I was really meaning that people in general are not able to talk as young as you... let alone change how fast they age."
"Odd, I supposed I was a reasonable sample of the rest of humanity. I'm not? Well that explains why the species has survived for as long as it has. Really, the sort of things I can accomplish combined with any kind of malice aforethought doesn't bare thinking of!"
"Um." For a moment Herbert thinks of asking what Jill IS capable of... and thinks better of it. Probably he'd just faint again if she told him. "Well, why don't you tell me everything you've experienced so far, so I can judge what I need to tell you to fill you in?" he says, sitting on the side of the bed near her, trying ably to ignore his nakedness.
