Erika jumped inside one of the pods, and yelled for your mother before shutting the door. When she came into the garage, she was naturally attracted to the big metal tubes that had popped up over night. As soon as she was close enough, Erika flipped the switch and flooded the garage in a bright, consuming light.
Stumbling out of the pod, Erika was stunned that it had worked. She looked down at a taller, more mature, more prissy body. She did a quick spin, letting the floral skirt twirl around her. Meanwhile, your mom stumbled out, and had an even bigger grin on her face than Erika did. "Erika! Look at this! I'm you!" She ran off to the bathroom to get a peek in the mirror, and Erika strutted along behind her. It was a little unsettling to Erika, seeing her own body in the reflection beside her, while her own belonged to someone else.
What bothered her most, was seeing her body act so... Girly and giddy and happy. The image she worked to create was juxtaposed by the joyous expression on her face, and there was nothing she could do to control it.
Your mother, turned to Erika, grabbing her hand. "Don't worry, dear. We'll figure this out. Until then, we're just going to have to pretend to be each other. It's just like that movie, you know the one?"
"But mom, what did this was-"
"I'll have to go to school as you, and you'll have to go to work as me! I bet we're going to learn a lot about each other!"
"Mom, wait! We don't have to! We can switch back now!"
She had already dashed off to Erika's bedroom to get ready for school. She really wanted to do this. For your mom, this was a much-sought-after bonding experience. Your sister had been out to prove a point. The last thing she wanted was mom snooping around her life. Erika runs after her to stop her, but it's too late. Mom has left for school.
