His father picks up his beer and thinks to himself for a moment.
“Well let’s see, since their aren’t going to be any more children, I would give it about fifty years until society collapses. After all, there will not be enough people to stimulate the economy and then it’s all downhill from there. There really isn’t much we can do about it, so I guess all we can do is treasure the memories we have of them untill the end.” He says
For a moment, Aaron remains silent, and then he raises his beer. “To mom, and Katie, and Aunt Donna…” he says. John then joins in naming his sisters, other relatives, and friends. This went on for some time and before long, the two of them had finished their beers.
After they finished eating, they said good night to one another and went to bed.
The next morning, Aaron woke up and walked down to the living room where he found his father watching the news.
“Morning Dad.” Aaron says to his father.
“Hey morning. There are some biscuits on the stove if you’re hungry.” He says
“Awesome.” Aaron says, as he makes his way to the kitchen.
Aaron then picks up a biscuit, pours himself a glass of orange juice, and walks back into the edge of the kitchen so that he can see the TV.
