Take the form of its intended victim's worst, most horrific fear. An old wives' tale insists that sex with a boggart will cure anyone of fear. This is not true and is just unpleasant for all involved.
Catoplebas
An aggressive, magical monster that resembles a bull, covered in dusky, metal scales. It breathes a noxious cloud of fumes that will turn any creature to stone.
Pink Slime.
This ooze is formed of meat slurry. Pink slimes were developed by a group of orcs whom the dwarves commissioned to build them an anti-vorelf weapon. These slimes aggressively envelope whoever they come in contact with, sealing them inside their dripping bodies, but find dwarves repulsive and shy away. Vorelf shrinking saliva has no effect of a pink slime, and an imprisoned elf has no choice but to eat his or her way free. If this is even accomplished at all, it usually leaves the elf too engorged to seek other prey.
Spiders
Inject paralysing venom. Come in a variety of sizes (spiders the size of cats are not uncommon) and flavours.
Silk - spin webs of spider silk. Pretty generic.
Rubber - spray strands of sticky rubber. A popular familiar for Crimson wizards.
Drider - an elf fused to the body of an spider from the waist down. Was all the rage for a time in elven society. When having a spider for legs fell out of fashion, driders were driven out, along with flared trousers and pogs.
Skinsuits/living skin
Resembling the hollowed-out skin of a human or animal, skinsuits are imitative parasites that latch onto a host from which they draw their nutrients. These creatures hang from trees or lie in shallow water, waiting for an unsuspecting traveler to come close. Some have been seen to use their hollow bodies to float on gusts of wind.
Once they have ensnared and rapidly enveloped their prey, skinsuits are so painful to remove - akin to tearing off your own skin - that they can only be removed with outside help or with great strength of will. After a few hours, the parasite becomes fully fused to the skin of the host, and cannot be removed.
Days after becoming trapped inside the creature, the skinsuit sheds itself from the victim, as does a second skinsuit resembling the host's original form. In this way the skins reproduce themselves. The resulting two parasites go their own seperate ways, leaving the host trapped in the form of the original parasite, and severely weakened.
Neutered skinsuits (with the head having been severed) are incapable of fusing with a victim, and are sold for personal use, with a zipper sometimes added for ease of access.
Skinsect
Resembling skeletal, humanoid insects, skinsects are actually more closely related to the hermit crab. They are the polar opposite to skinsuits in that they live inside their victims. When targeting a victim, a skinsect will lock its mouth with theirs, flooding their body with digestives juices which quickly melt the internal organs and bones, but leave the skin and external appearance intact. The skinsect will then insert itself into the hollowed out shell and live there until it outgrows it.
Despite their basic intelligence and considerable cunning, skinsects are usually given away by their inhuman and disturbing behaviour.
Slimes
Grey slime - not a true slime but rather the tragic end result of the Shapeshifter life cycle - grey slimes are Shapeshifters no longer able to hold their true form. These sad creatures are rarely aggressive.
Green slime - a horrible, fetid growth that covers walls and ceilings of dank dungeons. Non-mobile, but will convert flesh into more green slime on contact.
Slimelion - imitates the last thing it ate.
Gelatinous cubes - large, motile cubes of slime that trawl dungeon corridors, consuming any living matter they happen to pick up.
Gelatinous boobs - twin mounds of pink, semi-solid slime that will latch onto an adventurer's chest and feed on their nutrients. Resemble a pair of exquisitely sculpted, spongy, pink breasts that grow larger as the slime feed. A minor skin infection, gelatinous boobs will usually clear of their own accord after a few days, though some localized discomfort and itching may occur, which can be relieved by palpating the affected area vigorously. This should be performed by a trained medical professional.
The Pink Death
Nobody is quite sure as to the reason why, but every so often a new strain of gelatinous boobs emerges, much more contagious, aggressive, and malignant. It is known as the pink death (or boobonic plague to give it its proper name).
Like the relatively harmless gelatinous boob infection, symptoms start with swelling of the chest into twin mounds of soft, spongy, pink flesh, however the infection quickly spreads to other areas of the body. Over time, the flesh of the entire body may take on a pink, rubbery consistency. If left untreated, the infection enters the bloodstream and then the brain. Mental deterioration quickly follows, consisting of confusion, decreased intelligence, heightened libido, and reduced desire to wear clothing, all of which greater increases the risk of skin-to-skin transmission.
Following the so-called "bimbo-stage", death comes swiftly. Fatality rates often number half of all those afflicted.
Those who survive the infection remain carriers for the rest of their lives and the changes caused to their bodies become irreversible. They are shunned by society, even friends and family, and often sent to live in remote colony islands with other sufferers, where they might live in peace and palpate each others' swellings for the rest of their days.
This tragic disease is one of the most feared killer of the modern world, reemerging after hundreds years of dormancy.
Lubeworms
The folk remedy to children, lubeworms are slippery, stretchy worms used as contraceptives in remote areas where condoms are unavailable. Fished from stagnant water, they can be slid over the penis, allowing intercourse with minimal risk of pregnancy. Come in a variety of flavours, all disgusting.
Not to be confused with the Spiny Lubeworm.
