Visit the house where the sale will be held

    by: Cardio Author IconMail Icon
You left the movie theater as quickly as you could. You had to figure out how to get out of your mom's body in 1989 and back to the present day in your own. You recognized the old Volkswagen your uncle still has in the garage to this day but cursed yourself when you remember that your mom didn't have the key to it on her. You were about to go back to your uncle and tell him you really wanted to go before you remember something from some of the old stories your mom used to tell you. Quickly you run to the bike rack by the theater and after a once over you recognize the old bike that your mom kept in the backyard but never used. Well it wasn't old now, it looked brand new. Probably because it is.

Getting on the bike you ride off to find the house where you had purchased the book. Luckily the town is fairly small so getting their on bike is feasible. After over half an hour of biking you were ready to give up hope and try to get back to the movie theater to maybe catch a ride to your grandparents home, but as if someone was hearing your prayers you recognize the street where the garage sale took place. You ride down the street and finally come across your bounty. Even without all of the junk on tables all across the yard there was no mistaking the house. Even in 1989 the place still looked like hell, the home had some junk on the porch indicating some life in the house but the whole home had a feel of dishevelment. Nervously you park your bike by the porch and bang the large freaky looking door knocker. You wait in front of the door nervously with your arms folded over your new chest as you wait for an answer.

"Come on in!" a female voice shout out. You aren't really comfortable of the idea of entering some strangers home, especially in your condition, but you don't see yourself as having much choice in the matter. The lifelessness of the outside of the house could not be in more contrast to the inside. Everywhere you looked you saw all sorts of books, gizmos, gadgets, toys, and more. Looking at a few things you were excited to recognize a few things from the garage sale in the future. Fantastic! That means the book is here somewhere!

"I'm in the back!" the voice shouted out from the back of the house.

"Um, mam? I wanted to ask you about something." you say cautiously.

"Obviously you do. Why else would you be here? Now you can ask me in here."

Still cautious in your approach, you slowly make your way to the back. When you get there you see a woman stirring what seemed to be a cauldron with a big iron spoon. The woman seemed to be in her late 30's with frizzy blonde hair. She stood over the cauldron at a tall 6' 0" with a skinny frame. You figure that she would probably be pretty good looking, however she looked as if she hadn't had a bath in weeks if ever.

"So, you're here. What do you want?" the lady said bluntly.

"Well you see..." you decide that you want to be as vague as you can get away with, "I'm looking for a book."

"Any book in particular or shall I just shoo you off to the library girl." she says harshly.

"I doubt I could find this book in a library, and I am almost 100% sure you have the book. You see it's green and has what looks like an old man's face on the cover."

The lady dropped her spoon in the cauldron. For the first time she looked up at you with a stunned face and said,

You have the following choices:

1. "Yes I have it, but only the chosen one can read it"

*Noteb*
2. "No, but I know where it is"

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
