The rules are as following. (Copied from the teacher branch)
You play a normal round of poker but instead of betting money, you bet traits of yourself. The traits can be anything you can name. The traits are not equal in worth, some are more worth than others. A list can be found below.
The game will be played like a normal poker game, you bet and the one with the best hand wins. The winner can choose to either swap his traits with those in the pot or swap these with the other players. You can't swap back traits you had when you began the game. It is possible to win and lose other traits throughout the game. For example it is possible that Mark get's red hair, loses it and wins the same again during the game. He can't swap his own hair back.
Swapping ages or genders does not change you physical. People just think of you that you're that old or the opposite gender.
It doesn't matter what you bet, it is possible that there are several of the same trait in the pot. It's not possible to swap a hand for a foot or something like that.
At the start of every hand, two people have to place a pot. The person dealing has to give in traits worth 1 points, the person right to him/her has to give traits worth 2 point. That then circules clockwise the next hand.
When someone set bets, the other players have to bet equal or more points to continue playing, e.g. Katie has a bets traits worth 4 points, then the other will have to bet traits worth 4 or more points.
Reality adjusts to the swaps. It is only possible to leave the game table in between hands not when the game is played.
All swaps can be reversed any time after two days when all players gather, put their hands on the card box and saying a magical formula.
Trait - Points
Small body parts (e.g hands, feet, lips... etc) - 1 Point
Small Possessions (e.g. jewelry, single books, single dvds) - 1 Point
One clothing article - 1 Point
Personal Infos (e.g. Age, name... etc) - 2 Point
Larger body parts (e.g. torso, legs, face... etc) - 2 Points
'Medium' Posessions (e.g. small personal library, DVD collections) - 2 points
Skills - 2 Points
Male/ Female body parts - 3 Points
Major posessions (e.g. cars, houses, all of one article of clothing) - 3 Points
Gender - 3 Points
Personality changes - 4 Points
Whole Outfit - 4 Points
Life - 5 Points
"Okay, I am going remind everyone here that this is only for fun and to get used to how other people live." Cindy reminded the group. "I am going to play along with you guys so that I am aware of the swaps and so that I will be able to keep an eye out for any misbehaving."
"We know Mom" said Anna "And you have no problem locking the cards away if we misuse them, leaving us the way we are for a certain amount of time. We have heard this before."
"Yeah, and I say we do this for 1 week this time, how do you guys feel about that?" Cindy asked the group.
"Yes, Mrs. Ferguson." replied the group with a somewhat monotonous voice.
"Alright, Micheal, since it's your birthday, how about you start off the night." announced Cindy with great fanfare that she only heard in her mind.
"Hmm... I will bet my feet" Micheal announced with a pair of his feet floating above him.
"2 points" Melody mumbled to herself, "I bet my name." With the bet made, a name tag with her name was floating above her.
"I bet my driving skills," Jeremy announced as a car was literally parked above his head.
"I am out" Anna announced, which was unusual for her because she usually went gung ho with this game. "I didn't have anything, I hope that will turn around in the next couple hands."
"I bet my hands and my gender" Cindy said while trying to keep a decent poker face.
"Hmm..." Josie said to herself, 'I really don't have anything good, but I really want to start the night off with a bang. I might be able to bluff my way through things like I did last time.' she thought. "Okay, I bet all of my pants and my earrings." She finally stated.
Micheal groaned as he thought of what he could do. "I am going to bet my chest. Since it is considered to be a body part."
"I am out" stated Melody, "This is getting too much for me." As she put her cards down.
"Me too," announced Jeremy as he followed his sister's movement.
"Alright, you two lets see what you have." Cindy said as she watched their hands.
"I only have a pair of Jacks" Josie said as she blushed slightly while looking at Micheal.
"That doesn't beat my 3 tens" Micheal said amused and getting ready to deal out the loot to the losers.
"Whoa there, that certainly doesn't beat my 3 nines," Cindy chimed in,"But don't worry honey, I am sure you will win next time." As she tried to cheer up her son.
"Hmm... Jeremy you can keep your driving skills and you can have Josie's pants too. Melody, I know you try to be around the bigger kids for some reason that you don't want to discuss right now, so I am going to give your name to Micheal and he can have my gender while I am at it."
"Mom, wait..." Micheal said abruptly. "You grabbed the wrong item and accidentally gave my chest to Melody." But it was too late, Micheal now had the underdeveloped chest of a 13 year old girl.
"Oh well, here is her name and I will take Josie's earrings too. Now what to do with my hands. Anna, I think you should feel the love that is going around too." With that said she now sported Anna's manicured hands.
"Well that is not how I wanted to start the evening" announced Melody (Micheal)
"Lets start the next hand" Anna said as she grabbed the cards with her now older hands.
