"Shouldn't you be in school?" Evan asked his neighbor, who was currently sitting in a lawn chair under the big tree in her front yard reading a book.
"I'm home sick," Anna replied, indeed sounding rather congested.
"Yeah, same here," said Evan. "Sort of."
"What do you mean 'sort of?'" Anna asked him with a laugh.
"It's complicated," said Evan.
"Whatever you say," Anna laughed. "So, what's up?"
"Nothing really," said Evan. "I had a really weird dream last night."
"What was it about?" Anna asked curiously.
Evan was debating whether or not to tell Anna about the powers he thought he had. She was rather mature for her age and she had been his neighbor since she was a baby so she was pretty trustworthy in Evan's eyes. She was also the type of person to be likely to believe him too. In the end, he decided to just tell her.
"In the dream I was given the power to swap anything between myself and a willing individual," Evan explained. "When I woke up, I had a pounding headache and I felt like all my energy had been drained which is why I stayed home from school today. It's also why I think that I might actually have the power now."
"Have you tried it yet?" Anna asked, sounding genuinely interested.
"No," said Evan.
"Want to try it now?" Anna asked.
"Wait, you actually believe me?" asked a surprised Evan.
"Well there's no way to know that you're wrong until we actually try it," said Anna.
"Okay then," said Evan. "What should we try swapping?"
