“Screw it, I’m going!” Evan said. He figured that Steph would be happy for him. It was probably why she wanted to do this swap after all. His urges were telling him to go, so why not listen to them? He quickly cleaned himself up and got dressed and headed downstairs quickly and out the door so nobody would see him leave.
Evan was able to walk since Mark didn’t live far, only about 10 minutes by foot. At least, that would give himself some time to think. But the problem was doubtful thoughts entered his mind. “Is this even right? Should I have told Steph? What about Amy? What if Mark is not really interested in me? If I’m gay how will everyone treat me?” Those thoughts cycled through Evan’s brain on a loop until, thankfully, he reached Mark’s house. He decided to stay the course and knock. Besides, if he got cold feet they could always just hang out… right?
All of those thoughts in Evan’s head disappeared as soon as Mark opened the door. Gone were the worries of being gay and his anxiety became excitement. Staring at his new boyfriend across from him, he no longer saw a friend that he enjoyed goofing around and playing video games with, but rather a lover. Someone that he genuinely cared about and enjoyed spending time with, someone that he could depend on in a time of need, and finally someone who could give it to him when he needed it most. He used to feel that way about someone else but at this point he couldn’t think of who.
“Hey.”
“Hi baby!” Evan squealed and smashed his lips into his.
