King Emeril had called for an adventurer to search for his the court wizard Arimas who had vanished without living word of his whereabouts. In these times of trouble the King needed the aid of his trusted and loyal magic user. Melis had met the wizard at several court appearances, but she wasn't very familiar with him, but she knew enough to know where to start looking, where else do you look for a wizard but in his tower?
Melis borrowed the key that had been given to the King so she could gain access to the tower without having to break through the enchantments that were protecting the tower. As she reached the tower she placed a prayer of protection on herself just in case. Melis was fairly curious what a wizard tower really looked like, and this would be her first chance as a young adventurer to see inside of one. Her usual quests involved attacking temples dedicated to evil and fighting the living dead given to her by the Circle of Light. This was the first time she had been allowed to pick a quest and she thought assisting the local ruler would help in future relations with the church, so she was especially eager to make a good impression.
The places were organized and clean with everything in the proper place. As she reached the top of tower her piercing blue eyes observed strange laboratory equipment bubbling in a variety of colors in numerous beakers but none of them were overflowing. The shelves were filled with strange books with unfamiliar writing but the most amazing sight was a miniature of a large village which seemed to have little people walking around it.
