Collect a companion to act as a diversion

Seras decided if King Emeril needed the assistance of one of the most famous thieves in the land chances were he was desperate and that usually meant the mission was extremely dangerous. A little extra assistance wasn't uncalled for, so she decided to ask for the assistance of warrior, Nasty Nick. He had earned the name for surviving the nastiest of fights and combats. He also had the bad habit of leaving pieces of equipment in the bedrooms of his employer's wives which he hadn't been visiting for security checks. Cleaning up after the warrior had earned more than one favor from the usually cash strapped warrior for Seras.

'I need your help with a mission,' Seras sat beside the heavily armored warrior in one of the dive bars he frequented when low on cash, or hiding out from irate husbands. Judging by the way he kept his eyes on the doors and back to the wall it was the latter.

'Your timing couldn't be any better,' Nasty Nick gave a grin. 'I haven't traveled in too long and was afraid my skills were going to go to pot, and here you call upon me for assistance. Now, I get to travel and clear my debts with a friend.'

'Some of your debts,' Seras corrected Nasty Nick. 'Are you forgetting how I cleared up the mess with your deflowering of the Archmage's daughter? What about leaving your dagger in the bedroom of the wife of the Captain of the Royal Guard?'

Nasty Nick's smile left his face and he cough, 'Too many hits to the head I suppose. My memory is maybe a little faulty, so I'll let you keep track of things my old friend.'

Seras let out a heavy sigh and nodded to let it settle matters. Nasty Nick wasn't trying to be dishonest, but he was trying to haggle when Seras held all of the chips. She had saved Nasty Nick from his over active hormones and absent minded brain on, so many occasions if she asked him to fall on sword he had better do it, because there were many people who would be willing to assist him onto the sword if given the proper information. Seras liked the man despite the trouble he had caused her over the years, but she wouldn't sell him up the river though she often contemplated how much she could get if she sold him out to his enemies.

'Come on my noble knight,' Seras teased. 'The sooner we get started the sooner you will be back drinking good beer instead of this mule piss.'

'Never have I heard such a fine enticement for a quest,' the handsome fighter smiled. 'It will be my pleasure to assist such a fine lady with whatever she desires.'

Seras laughed, 'So I have heard.'

The pair laughed as they rode off into the distant night. Nighttime was more comfortable for these two who were so comfortable with combat enshrouded inside of darkness. Many dangers could be encountered on their journey, but shadows and darkness were as much allies with them as anything that lurked within the darkness.

You have the following choices:

1. Danger Drow

2. Learn more at Port Haven

3. Investigate the city of Gunderson
