Marian decided it would be wisest if she didn’t travel alone on this perilous quest. It would normally be difficult to find someone who shared her views to travel with but luckily a cleric of the holy light who she knew well was in town. Timothy Black was an excellent travel companion, but he might have duties which prevented him from coming on the journey.
Timothy Black believed firmly in the sanctity of life, and worked to make the world better by freeing people from curses and binding ancient evils to prevent them from harming civilization. He was a physically imposing man with dark hair and darker eyes. A flail hung at his side awaiting use against opponents who didn’t respect his words or his magic.
“What brings you by Marian?” Timothy wiped the sweat from his brow as he stopped his gardening.
“I am looking for help to take down Dreze,” Marian answered.
Timothy frowned, “It will take a lot of work and death will likely be involved. Are you prepared for that?”
“With my skill and your assistance I am hoping to avoid any killings.”
“But are you prepared to kill if it has to be done.”
Marina paused a moment as she thought about it, “If Dreze or one of his minions has to be killed, but I am willing to risk a lot to prevent that from happening.”
“Good, as long as that is understood I am willing to help you,” Timothy responded. “I am willing to give up many pieces of my humanity to end an evil like Dreze.”
It didn’t take long for the cleric to prepare himself for the journey. Having a wizard along who could conjure food and supplies made packing easier. The only thing left to decide was what path to take.
