Seras decided to use an airship for the added speed and safety of travel. It also wouldn’t hurt to check out how the airships worked because she was thinking of investing in one. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to use it as a luxury travel vessel, smuggling, or some combination of the two. It wouldn’t be cheap but she had already made a fortune stealing from the people who would be her likely travel companions.
It wouldn’t do to have a renowned thief travel with nobles, so it would be smart for Seras to take on the noble guise of Lady Temperance Nelson. Forming the guise of a noble wasn’t as difficult as one might think as it only required one thing to do it properly, money. Learning etiquette was easy for someone who committed floor plans to memory. It wasn’t long before she held parties.
The parties had been the goal the whole time because though they cost a fortune to put on they were investments into future jobs. What better way to learn where the money from than from the nobles themselves? Nobles were some of the worst gossips or best in Seras’s mind because they were constantly discussing who had spent too much on some jewelry or art and who was struggling and had to sell off some their valuables. It made for easy work for a thief who knew how to listen, and now it was time to take on the guise for travel.
Scars vanished as Seras’s skin smoothed and became pale, and muscles that were hardened from years of use became delicate and graceful lines as the magic of her ring took effect. Her hair retained the lovely red hue she loved but the locks formed into elaborate curls of a proper noble. An ample bosom swelled into the chest that drew many a stare of lust from men. Changing into the proper dress took more time than Seras cared for and brought many curses from the struggling thief. Lady Nelson had replaced the infamous thief.
Obtaining the ticket for travel didn’t take long and within a few hours Seras and several other passengers were launched into the air. The sails fluttered as they caught the wind and the magic carried them swiftly across the sky far above the land, but even high in the sky there are many dangers.
