Har walked with purpose towards the King’s throne room heedless of the stares he drew with his appearance. In his native lands common people would have hidden their gazes for the fear his kind inspired. Har preferred the stares because they came from curiosity, not fear and hate and to be honest he did look strange. He didn’t have any hair upon his body, and other than a pair of shorts he was devoid of clothing even in the coldest of weathers. His body was instead covered in arcane symbols etched into his flesh from the top of his head to the pads of his feet.
Most people thought the symbols were religious in nature but they from dark magic conjured by people willing to breed human like cattle and experiment on them with acknowledgement of the value of their humanity. Har might have cried at the pain they had inflicted upon him if his master hadn’t removed his eyes and placed light blue glowing orbs in the empty sockets, but that was the past and he now sought to ingratiate himself to the local ruler so he could build a home far from the madness that plagued his homelands.
“How may I serve you, your Majesty?” Har asked King Emeril with a bow, but habit forced him to not lower his eye from the potential threat. He could order his guards to attack with a glance or gesture and Har was prepared to act if he committed such a flawed decision.
“I have read on your kind before, spell scarred I believe you are called,” King Emeril waited for a nod of affirmation before continuing. “Several children have gone missing from the city with no ransom demands. I suspect they are being taken by through the sewer because it would explain the lack of witnesses. There is no proof but a group of Blood Moon warlocks was spotted near the city and it would explain the missing demands. You will be rewarded if you are successful in solving this problem. I leave you to determine how to best proceed in your quest.”
Har knew how he would proceed with his quest and with one last bow he was on his way.
