Determined to become an adult bear as quickly as possible Koda decided to put all his effort into eating.
At first he wondered what to eat. He could eat salmon's like the other bears, but there was two problems with that. 1. Many other bears where probably hunting in the river right now since it was a popular place to hunt in, and 2. The effort it would take to catch even one salmon would make him burn more calories then he would gain. "If I want to keep my food inside of me I must do almost nothing else but eating." Koda thought, remembering seeing some very fat bears that would do nothing but lay around lazily all day after eating.
Having salmon out of the picture Koda tried hard to figure out what else to eat, but all that came into his mind was berries and nuts. At first it felt like it wouldn't work, but then Koda slightly remembered a hidden place that had plenty of berry bushes and trees that was easy to shake nuts out of. Seeing this as his greatest plan yet Koda decided to go of to find it.
During the whole day Koda went his way deeper down the forest and further away from where the rest of the bear tribe was. As the sun was getting lower and darkness was starting to take over Koda felt that this might have been a bad idea and that he should head back to the others, but just as he was suppose to his eyes got a glimpse of something small and red hiding in the dense growing forest. Looking closer he saw that it was berries, but was it the one he remembers? A taste on some of them confirmed to him that it was in fact them.
As he let the taste stay in his mouth Koda could feel that these berries was really sweet and juicy, if he would ever have gotten a chance to taste candy it would probably have been the same thing. Feeling happier then ever Koda made his way through the thick growing bush and found inside a hidden clearing with even more berries and nuts then he remembers from last time.
Being more happy then ever before Koda started to eat like crazy of more of the berries. Since they where as sweet as candy Koda got both more addicted to eat them, and he also got the extra energy to do it like in a sugar rush. Plus unknown to him these berries seemed to have a bit of a bizarre side effect. They seems to have the power to make everything someone eats to get a bunch of extra calories as they where being digested. So the more he eat the more energy he would get and the more calories he would gain.
For Koda this was paradise. He would be in such a rush of the sugar that he wouldn't even notice that his midsection was starting to get wider. Not even when he was using his added body form to slam into trees and making it's nuts drop down on the ground. He was to busy to not lose his drive. "I can't believe that I have never been to this place much more often!" Kody thought to himself.
Unknowingly for Koda hours passed and it had been getting late into nightfall when he had finally managed to clean every single bush of its berries. Koda's brain started to slightly work again as all he could think about was to find more berries. Frantically Koda looked around hoping to find more of that sweet nectar of the forest. As the rush was getting lower the more desperate Koda became. He turned and looked in all directions possibly until he tried standing up which made him fall on his back. Getting completely out of his trance state Koda got a chance to see that it was in the middle of the night now, and on what those berries had truly done to him.
Looking down he saw that his normal looking paunch had now been stretched out to be at least three times its normal size. It looked like the little cub had swallowed down another cub. And while he had been able to still move his new body around before, his position of laying on his back made moving around down right impossible. He was stuck looking at the stars up in the sky, and on the moon that was shining down it's light to make it possible for Koda to see his new belly. "Not to shabby for my first day." Koda thought proud and patted his belly.
But his proudness soon turned into fear as he heard noises coming from the nearby bushes. In this unlucky position he figured out that he would become a great victim for any predator that would be lurking around, and he would not be able to do anything about it!
Luckily for him the mystical creature turns out to be none other then...
