Scalis lives with a human mistress and her chil...

As Scalis entered his home, he heard the rush of footsteps, and felt the grip of two sets of arms grab his legs, and the yell of "Scalis is home!"

He patted the two human children that had wrapped themselves around him. "Yes, I'm home my darlings." He then picked them up, and gave them both a lick. "Were you good for your mother today?"

The pair nodded.

"Good." He set them down. He then watched as a human woman came into the room. "Martha."

"How was work?" she asked.

"It was good," said Scalis. "A little sad, but good."

"So, what happened?" Martha asked.

"One of my clients passed away, so there's that bit of sadness, plus the other issues that come about, but most of those are in order," said Scalis. "Still, she spent her last moments with her grandchildren, so that is good."

"I suppose so," said Martha. "Hungry?"

"Reasonably so," said Scalis. "Had something of a light snack."

"I understand," said Martha.

"Alright you two," said Scalis. "Go get cleaned up for supper."

The two kids ran off.

Martha smiled. "You're good to them. A good father figure."

"I try to be," said Scalis.

"You're good to me too," said Martha, as she walked up to him, and wrapped her arms around him. "You'd make a good husband."

"Tempting offer," said Scalis. He then kissed her.
