Thinking Over Breakfast

Going out into the hallway, he could see the light on under the large white closed bathroom door he and his sister shared and saw his mother's door closed, so when he reached an empty kitchen moments later, it was just as he was expecting. He went over to the cabinet, pour himself a bowl of cereal and started putting together his bagel and cream cheese before sitting down at the table.

Chewing up his meal, Steve began to recollect the amazing weekend he had had for his senior prom and all the little moments that he could find. He was lost deep in these thoughts until one particular bite into his bagel made him realize something suddenly.
