Chapter #5Spirit Made Flesh by: Ryan   Mana felt something hard underneath her as she rose to consciousness. The last thing she remembered was teaching a class in the Spellbook Academy: a famous academy she was guest lecturing in. She wasn't very believing of institutions like academies, preferring the apprentice method of teaching that her own master had taught her. Mahad, otherwise known as The Dark Magician had taught her everything about magic, and she, in turn, had taken on her own apprentices. Berry, Lemon, Apple, Chocolate and Kiwi, who insisted on calling themselves 'The Fruity Magician Girls', despite the fact Chocolate was not a fruit, had incredible magical potential. They were careful, and wouldn't make a stupid mistake like the one that undoubtedly had sent her here. Clearly someone in the academy had caused her to be sent here, wherever here was.
She sat up, trying to get her bearings in the dark room she had woken up in. It seemed to be a disused classroom, but not one she remembered from the academy. Tables and chairs stacked against the wall. She stood up, feeling strange. Heavier than she had been. More... substantial.
She reached for her wand, casting a diagnostic spell on her body. How strange. Mana was a duel spirit, with no physical form in the real world aside from the stone tablets she recalled being used to summon her in the past, and the pieces of card that had summoned her more recently. Every time her spirit was invoked, she received a brief image of what occurred, but she had never physically traveled to the realm where she was summoned.
Now she was here, and not only that, this world was not the spirit world she was born into. She had a body. She breathed. She had weight and substance. She put a finger against her neck. She had a heartbeat. Somehow, she had been brought physically into the real world.
Mana sat down. This was alot to take in. She remembered the flashes of numerous deaths she had experienced when her spirit copies were destroyed. None were pleasant. And now she was in a place where death would be real and forever. That... was terrifying.
She looked at the place where she had woken up, the thing she had woken up lying on. She recognised the object: her spirit copies had seen them on the wrists of the modern day monster summoners. Face up in one of the zones, a card named 'Girl's World' glowed for a moment before darkness returned to the room once more.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
