Chapter #8
He catches her
by: Unknown
But, before I could reach the tent flap, he caught me by the arm and forced me down. I struggled valiantly in his grasp, but people back then were much more physically fit. In my current era female body, I stood no chance. I screamed and screamed as he found his way under my hide clothing and pulled it away.
The less I try to remember about that night, the better. I've had literally thousands of years to go over it again and again in my mind, and it never gets any easier.
Humans were also much more savage back in the beginning.
I was kept in his tent for the next few days, regularly used and abused. They tied me up with the same crude strings they'd used to tie up their tents.
That is the origin of the wedding ring, you know. Back then, people tied their women up to show that they belonged to them and to keep them from running off. As the centuries passed, the ropes became smaller and smaller until they eventually degraded into these little golden rings.
Fortunately, the connotations from whence they came were also dropped.
