"As soon as I saw who was in the tent with me, I gasped, stepping back. The beard and the flat, hairy chest could mean only one thing--the other person was a man! Since I, now a woman, had been brought to a tent with a man, there could be only one reason for me being here. This man must have no woman yet and so his fellow tribesmen had brought me into his tent so I could be his woman.
"I gulped and took another step back but still not taking my eyes off the man across the tent from me because I couldn't. If I did, he might have a chance to get over to me and I didn't want that. That would be the end of my free life. I would be an impregnated woman belonging to this strange man. Such a situation would end any chances I had to finding any way out of this situation. Thus, I knew, I had to keep my wits about me to avoid such a fate. Consequently, even as I made a swift motion for the entrance, I didn't take my eyes off the man."
