An Ogre is on my tail!

"W-wait. Did you say an Ogrenette is after you?", you ask. You had to have heard her wrong because the Ogre tribes lived in the mountains. They had no place here in the wooded valleys and plains. Your hope however was shattered at seeing your new bunny friend nod her head before looking around like she expected the beast to just jump out at them at any moment. "Why is such a beast even here? They l've in the mountains. Your can't possibly be saying you went up there and pissed one off, that would mean you've been running for days, maybe over a week!"

"N-no! There've been some fights over territory between the ogre clans. This one got pushed out of her lands and forced all the way down here. I-I didn't even know about her till she tried to eat me two days ago." She explain, barely holding herself together near the end. You can't really blame her either. Ogres were pretty stupid but, Lord were they persistent little fucks. If you had a hungry predator that was normally over twice your own size and needed specially forged weapons or super strength just to hurt, you'd be pretty freaked out yourself. That made you think for a moment before doing what would either be the best decision of your life, or the action that would cause to come to a screeching halt.

The bunny girl, who you still didn't know the name of, was broken from her attempts at holding back her sobs and frightened cries by you grabbing her hand and soon practically dragging along behind you. "W-what are....?!?", you cut her off before she could likely start to panic. "If it's only been two days then that Ogrenette won't be too far behind. We need to start making tracks. I was on my way the the nearest city, a port town before meeting you. If we can get there before the Ogrenette catches up with us, then we can force it back through shear numbers." You look back at the girl to see she is giving you an odd look. You can clearly see confusion, fright and the barest hints of hope in her golden-amber eyes, as well as a myriad of other emotions swirling around inside of her.

"You know, I never did get your name. I'm Erik, just turned sixteen a few weeks ago.", you offered with a friendly smile. Your heartbeat quickens a bit at seeing a small smile make its way to the girls pretty face. "V-Velvet, my name is Velvet." "Well Velvet, stick with me and I'll do everything I can to get you out of this alive, I promise.", you say as your turn your eyes back towards the road. Your only response is a slight tightening of her hand around yours and her trying to match her pace with your own. You help out a bit with at last part as though her feet are remarkable human-like, they still have those pads on the bottom, making them better suited for hopping then walking.

As the two of you continued on your way, you can't help but wonder what sort of crazy adventure you just got yourself into.
