Jack sat on the cold, hard examination table the salarian scientist had set up in his laboratory. She didn't usually go there - the human biotic felt more than able to take care of herself, and that included diseases. However, lately she had begun to feel... a bit weaker. Less full of energy. She insisted she was fine, but with the crew's incessant nagging, she finally gave in and went to go see Mordin.
Now, Jack sat around, watching the ship's doctor fiddle around with various chemicals and beakers. Jack wasn't a scientist by any stretch of the imagination, but looking on, she couldn't help but wonder if Mordin didn't know what he was doing half of the time.
Eventually, though, Mordin turned around, holding a syringe filled with some strange purple liquid. "This is it. Elixir will go right into the bloodstream. Give more energy. Slight strength boost."
Jack stretched out a bit. Her various tattoos shifted slightly with her skin. Said tattoos were also very visible; Jack wasn't really known for covering herself up a lot.
"Sounds good to me. Put 'er in there, doc."
Nodding slightly, Mordin walked forward, gently grabbing Jack's arm. With intense precision, he stuck the needle into Jack's skin, injecting the whole vial into her bloodstream. It obviously stung a little, but Jack had dealt with far worse pain, so it wasn't much to her.
The salarian pulled out the needle, immediately going to wipe it off and sterilize it. "Good. That should be all. Simply rest up. Results should be felt-"
Mordin was interrupted by Jack crying out, as she felt a sudden burst of pain from within her chest. Mordin backed up, slightly stunned. The elixir wasn't supposed to act this fast, much less cause pain! Had he done something wrong? No, that was nearly impossible....
Mordin could only stand there as Jack felt a swelling feeling inside her...
