You took inventory of all of the beakers, test tubes, plants and cages that lined the mossy wall of a Simic-run warehouse near one of their most prominent research labs. The place was peaceful most of the time, but its proximity to Orzhov and Boros controlled neighborhoods made it a prime target for theft and vandalism. In a particularly brutal break in last mouth the guild even lost a tome filled with research notes and a vial of experimental ooze when someone killed the platefrog they had set to guard the place.
"All done sir, everything is accounted for except a few stray papers on plant mutagens and a list of seed types, both of which should be fairly easy to replace." you say as you walk over to the two elven men standing guard near the front door. One of them nods a confirmation at you and then turns back towards the stone wall out front and shifts his gaze back on the steel gate leading to the street. You let out a sigh as you rolled up your scrolls and began walking back towards the main lab entrance to drop off your work.
You had barely been with the guild for a week and already witnessed two break-ins along with the occasional rival guild member stopping by to taunt you or leave their mark on your walls and trees. Most of the damage done had been minor, but with last months incident and rising tensions with your fellow guild mates a conflict in the near future seemed like a sure thing. You wasted no time in dropping off your paperwork at the front desk where a merfolk mage was loading up clear slime bubble creatures with notes and letters and sending them on their way crawling up the walls and ceiling.
