Madison put her name in for the position, within a few days, she received an email back from Dr. Smith, and it invited her in for an interview.
On the day of the interview, Madison dressed up in a professional manner, she wore her pants suit and a matching shirt. Cassi commented as Madison walked out the door,
''Hey there Madison, running for Congress?''
''Not quite, job interview.''
''With the hot professor?''
''No, I went with a more accomplished one.''
''Wha? Wrong choice, Maddi, wrong choice.''
Madison got to the sociology department early, and located Dr. Smith's office. The door was open when she walked by.
''Hello, Dr. Smith.''
''Ah, you must be Madison, nice to meet you. So you're applying for the new associate professor position. I know that Powers may not be able to offer you full professor pay, but we have a great health plan.'' Madison greeted this with a terrified and confused look.
''Madison, I'm screwing with you. I looked over your high school activities, and someone of your drive would be great for our department. It's your job if you want it''
''Oh that's wonderful, thank you, what would you have me doing?''
''Well, I already have a TA who does some research for me, and teaches class when I am gone, you generally have to be a grad student for that, but as part of the deal to keep me at the University, I got a student assistant position given to me. You would just be running errands for me, like trips to the copier, and grading of multiple choice tests, nothing you can't handle.''
''Well that's great, when can I start?''
