"These are all promising jobs, but tutoring at Joyce is the one that works best for me," Madison said, in her usual cheerful tone.
Ms. Green smiled. "Wonderful! I'll let them know. You'll start Tuesday afternoon."
As she left Ms. Green's office, Madison rationalized her decision. Standing around demonstrating simple exercises to those who had fallen prey to the Freshman 15 didn't sound very exciting to her. Madison was competitive in the gym, and selective in who she hung out with...she didn't want to be seen with a bunch of sweathogs. She felt a bit more guilty for turning down the inner city job, as those students might need her help more. However, she figured she might be able to earn extra money at Joyce if a wealthy family decided to hire her for additional private tutoring. The possibility meant more time working, of course, but Mom had made it clear that Madison should not expect them to fund an extravagant lifestyle in addition to her college tuition.
Madison returned to her dorm and was about to open the door when Cassi came bouncing out. "Hey girl! I was just going to meet Kelly and Megan for dinner, wanna come? It's burrito night!"
"Sounds good! But, uh, you know they have those burritos every night, right? In fact, I'm pretty sure you had one the night before last..."
"Well, yeah, but I think it should be burrito night for all of us! I don't want to be the only one eating them. They're SO good, don't you deny it!"
Madison grinned. Over the past couple of weeks she had discovered Cassi had quite the appetite. Cassi had a slim, if somewhat untoned figure on her 5'5 frame. Her backside was a bit large compared to the rest of her, but led to a fantastic pair of legs for her somewhat limited height. Madison wondered how Cassi stayed skinny if she ate like this all the time.
"Ok, I'm game. Those burritos are good. Let's find something to do afterwards, though. Classes are just getting started and I've been busy all week, we need to get our party on!" Cassi grinned and nodded, and off they went to the food hall.
