Not wanting to try anything just yet, the 55 year old college professor decided to hurry on his way to campus. Catching the subway, Professor Hemingway arrived with time to spare, but he still went right to his class. He was usually quite punctual like that.
Class proceeded as usual, with Ron giving a lengthy lecture. That was pretty par for the course for a history class. This particular class was mostly sophomores, but there were some students from other years as well.
As he lectured, Ron couldn't help but think of his powers, and if he might be able to do some good with them. His eyes falling on one particular student, Ron decided to do something a bit drastic. His name was Devon Gray and he was a 20 year old sophomore who was still an undeclared major. Ron knew he was smart, but he didn't apply himself and lacked direction. He wondered if he might be able to help the boy, and somehow make up for being a failure of a man in the process.
His plan was simple. He would trade lives with Devon and help steer him in the right direction, while maybe learning about himself in the process. Maybe he would also learn how to better relate to his daughter.
Focusing on Devon, Ron made his swaps. Soon, he was seated in Devon's seat, occupying his body. For all intents and purposes, he was now Devon. Devon, in his body and life, meanwhile continued to lecture, thinking he was him.
However this power worked, it seemed to recognize what Ron was attempting, and it had given him access to certain pieces of Devon's memory. Specifically, he was now aware of what classes he was taking, his knowledge of the course material (which was particularly weird for Ron's own class since he both knew what he knew as the professor, and what Devon knew as the student), where he lived, and that kind of information. It was good to know.
When the history class ended, Ron planned his next move. He had to search through his new knowledge a bit, but he figured out what he had time to do soon.
