This choice: Avatar the Last Airbender • Go Back...Chapter #3Naruto learns spirits can be a-holes by: Chaos Magnet   It had been weeks since his last mission had ended, and Naruto was beginning to lose his mind from boredom. It was like the demand for his awesome ninja skills had suddenly dried up, and he was left killing time around town, mostly at his favorite ramen stand. Now, though, he was bored as hell.
In his desperation to find something to occupy his time, the hyperactive ninja came across a rumor of a shrine at the very outskirts of the village. Here say of odd occurrences, and a strange presence that could not be explained.
So, desperate for any form of activity that would get him out of his apartment, Naruto left for the shrine.
After an hour of trudging along the outskirts of the village, the young shinobi found the slightly decrepit shrine. It was obvious at first glance that no one had lived there for years. The wood building was showing signs of serious decay, with patches of the roof missing and sapling trees growing out of the sidewalk.
Walking through the decrepit grounds, Naruto kept his eyes open for the supposed apparition. The blond ninja left nothing unexplored, even overturning rocks in his hunt for the subject of the rumors.
With each passing minute, the ninja became increasingly frustrated. Had he just wasted his day looking for something that doesn't exist?
"What a rip off!" Naruto bellowed, throwing his arms up in frustration. In a fit of mixed rage, boredom, and frustration, Naruto lashed out with his foot, sending a loose rock careening into the broken down building.
His ears were immediately met with an echoing crash from within the structure. Soon after, the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end and the ninja was filled with a great dread. A harsh whirlwind started up, swirling leaves and dust about in a foreboding cyclone.
Within the wall of wind a silhouette appeared, large and imposing, from which came a thundering voice.
"What unimaginable fool dares to defile my home?!" The voice roared in fury. Naruto could practically feel the moment when the being's attention fell on him.
"Uh...yeah, sorry about that, " Naruto apologized, laughing nervously. An act which the entity took exception to.
"You laugh at the destruction of my home? Have you no shame human?"
It was never said that Naruto was among the smartest ninja in Konoha. By anyone. Ever. So, it wouldn't surprise anyone in the village to hear that the blond ninja managed to piss off a rather volatile spirit with almost no effort on his part.
"Hey, it was an accident! I didn't even know you lived here!"
If the apparition was angry before, Naruto's blunt response had made it absolutely furious. Without saying a word, the spirit summoned its power, creating a swirling vortex of energy around the gapping blond idiot.
"You shall suffer for your arrogance, mortal!"
With a loud pop, Naruto disappeared from his world, and ended up...  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
