It was a pretty busy, rainy night at the Prancing Goblin, a rural bar, and quite the amount of adventurers and citizens were enjoying their time, drinking up their ale and chatting with one another.
It is here that our main group was gathered, sitting at a table and drinking, but soon another fellow entered the pub.
He was a rather short mouse that took off his hood as soon as he got inside and went to the counter to order a beer...and as soon as he took the first sip his eyes fell on a certain overweight dragon and his companions across the room.
John was with his group. They are recently gotten back from an adventure that was pretty terrible, but at least they got decent pay. They were discussing things amongst themselves, mainly what job to look for next, oblivious to the mouse staring at them
The mouse gulped down the beer as quickly as possible and approached the group with his usual calm and nonchalant way, talking directly to John.
“Good evening lads and lasses, sorry to interrupt your chat," he said, drawing the groups attention, "but damn, you must be one of the biggest dragons I’ve ever seen! Is that just the armor or are you really that big?”
John glared at him. "What did you say to me?" he said hotly, unsure if he should take what he said as a compliment or an insult.
"Whoa, kid," said Marty, "You got some balls on you if you came up here talking to John like that. He isn't the best tempered guy.''
Cassy, the unicorn, jumped in before anything could escalate further, saying, "Okay, let's not fight, guys. So, who might you be?''
“Oh, Sorry! I didn’t mean to offend anyone nor to look rude," he quickly apologized, "You may call me Connor, I’m just a bounty hunter passing by and my eyes fell on your big friend right here. You see I have quite the interested in big fellas and sisters ya know? And you sir...John am I right?...well if you’re hiding a full on belly under that armor I’m more than interested!”
He chuckled, finishing his sentence and taking a bow in front of the crew as he introduced himself.
The group stared at him in shock, John's face turning red. Was this kid mocking him? Or was he seriously flirting with him?
"Well," said the Vixen thief with a grin, "I'll give him points for honesty. Pleasure to meet ya, Connor.''
She grabbed his hand and shook it. " So, Connor, what is the real reason you are here?'' she asked
the mouse looked up at her and gave a soft smile, saying, “The pleasure is all mine, vixen lady. Hmmm...well now that I think about it, my next target was supposed to be a trio of potion sellers. They are illegally making and selling potions and I got the job to track them down and stop them. And I could definitely need help for that, the reward is really hefty and I could take it all for myself but...” he then looked at John once again “...since you have such an handsome and interesting fella in the group I will gladly share the reward with you all”
They all seemed more interested now. "How much money are we talking here?" asked Tabitha.
“What if I told you that we’re talking about 20.000 gold coins?” he said crossing his arms proudly
John and his party looked at each other. This was an offer they couldn't refuse.
"Deal," said John.
“That is great!" said the mouse cheerfully, "Though, I didn't catch all of your names. Care to formally introduce everyone to me?"
"Sure," The vixen gestured to the group, "The cheetah is Marty, our mage. That's Cassy, our healer, and that big fellow is John, our knight in tight armor, and I'm Tabitha, and let's just say I'm good at getting myself out of tight situations, like prison cells.''
“Ah I See! You guys really look like interesting people," said the mouse, "You also seems to be staying at the same place. This is neat because we can start our mission tomorrow morning directly'' He then once again turned his eyes towards John. “I can’t wait to know you all better.”
